(John 6:35) Father, what a powerful and relatable metaphor You told Your disciples in John 6. Every day, we experience hunger. Every morning, we wake up and long for physical food to satisfy the physical groaning inside of us. And while food does provide a temporary solution, the hunger always returns. In the same way, things of this world that we pursue looking for satisfaction—money, fame, status, comfort—all of them return to us empty. They’re only temporary. They run out. But You, Father, are the Bread of Life. Your goodness, Your love, Your grace never runs out. When we turn to You in loving and trusting relationship, we never leave unsatisfied. As You know, Lord, Your child, ___, has been coming to You every day. Through the good times and bad, ___ continues to reach out to You, believing that You are good and that You love them. In light of Your good character, Father, I ask You to fill ___ up with satisfaction. Honor their commitment to You and respond with overwhelming peace, grace, and love. Lord, show ___ who their Creator truly is—the Bread of Life. Satisfy ___’s longing soul, God. Amen.
