(Romans 15:5-7) As Paul illustrates in his letter to the Church in Rome, there is power in unity, and there is power in community. As the body of Christ, we are stronger together. Just like a body, each part, each member has a specific, unique role to play that empowers the body as a whole. If a part of the body is missing, the entire body can’t function. In the same way, if we aren’t surrounded by other believers to strengthen, support, and encourage us, we can’t fulfill the full potential You’ve created us for as Your sons and daughters, Lord. In light of that, Father, I ask that You surround ___ with a body of believers to strengthen and support them during this trying season. Put friends in ___’s life on whom they can lean for encouragement and endurance. And as friends, family, co-workers, and others come around ___ to help push them through this difficult time, I ask that You would, in turn, empower ___ to help others and to “accept and welcome [them] as partners” in the power of Your gospel. Thank You for not leaving us alone on this earth, Lord. Thank You for community. Amen.
