(James 1:27) During Your life on Earth, Jesus—among many other things—one part of Your message and ministry came through loud and clear: You have a loving, caring, and compassionate heart for the lost and the broken. When You saw the brokenness among human beings, when You witnessed how lost and aimless we are—like “sheep without a shepherd”—the Gospel of Matthew says that Your heart was “moved with compassion” (Matthew 9:36). Thank You for Your compassion, Father. In Your love and grace, Lord, I ask You to give ___ that same heart of compassion and pity through Your Holy Spirit. Give ___ Your eyes, God. Give them Your heart for the lost and the broken. Out of Your everlasting love for them, motivate ___ to guide the lost, to have mercy on the broken, to direct the hurting to the hope found only in You. May ___ constantly and unwaveringly follow in Your footsteps of compassion and love, Lord. Amen.
