(Exodus 34:6-7) Yahweh, You are a “compassionate and gracious God.” That is Your character, Father; it’s woven into Your character. There’s nothing You can do and nothing You will do that is not full of compassion and grace. Thank You for that beautiful and encouraging truth. Lord, fill ___’s life and heart with that same grace and compassion as they take their first steps in true relationship with You. As You know, in our spiritual infancy—and even in spiritual maturity—we make mistakes, but still, in the midst of that, You are there to lift us back up. Hold ___ up by Your grace and compassion, God, especially in these early days. Speak louder than the voice of the Enemy in ___’s life. In Your goodness and power, protect ___ from discouragement, doubt, and shame. As ___ begins to learn more and more about You, Your Son, and what it means to be Your disciple, surround them with that compassion, grace, love, faithfulness, and forgiveness.
