(James 1:12) Throughout the stories we read in Scripture, God, You show us example after example of Your followers experiencing trials. That is no great secret or mystery. As You told Your disciples in John 16:33, “in this unbelieving world, [we] will experience trouble and sorrows.” Yet, because of what You’ve already done on our behalf through Jesus, the Anointed One, we can still have hope and joy in spite of those trials. Because of Your Holy Spirit around us and in us, and because of the hope waiting for us on the horizon, we know that hardships, difficulties, and spiritually dry seasons are only temporary. As You know, Lord, this is an especially important and encouraging truth for full-time ministers of the Gospel, like Your servant, ___. Already, they have experienced many hard seasons of ministry, yet You have continued to sustain them. Remind ___ of that reality, Father. Bring to their mind all the evidence of Your provision and care. Through Your Holy Spirit, God, empower ___ to keep going, to persevere, and endure through trials, that they might “continue to experience the untold blessings of God.” Give ___ Your eyes to see the truth James revealed in the verse above: “True happiness comes as you pass the test with faith and receive the victorious crown of life promised to every lover of God.” Thank You for the hope that’s on the horizon, Father, and for the power You’ve given us to persevere through trials.
