(James 1:12) God, You give a new perspective to all those who trust You and commit their lives to You—especially in times of trial and suffering. As ___ faces this new trial in their life, the world might tell them to “try to get through it” or “wait it out.” While there’s truth in that, Father, You tell ___ a different story. You say that, even in the midst of this difficult, painful season, ___ can still experience Your “untold blessings.” As they continue to trust in You and Your goodness, Lord, ___ can find happiness, “true happiness,” even when their circumstances seemed stacked against them. Because we have a greater hope—and everlasting hope in what You’ve done for us—negative circumstances don’t have ultimate power over us. You are stronger than ___’s circumstances, Lord. Because of Your Spirit living inside of them, ___ can overcome the difficulty; they can shine through the darkness. So, Father, in light of this, I ask You to sustain ___ through Your Holy Spirit. Equip ___ with steadfastness, faith, and perseverance through this trial. Empower ___ with the boldness and courage to say to their circumstances, “You don’t get to decide my happiness. You don’t get to take away my peace.” In the powerful name of Jesus, strengthen ___’s faith in You and deepen their reliance on Your goodness. Amen.
