(Isaiah 30:18) Yahweh, when Your presence rested on top of Mount Sinai with Moses—and You declared Your name and identity to him—You made it clear: not only are You a God of love, compassion, mercy, and grace, but You are also a God of justice. You don’t leave sin unpunished. You don’t ignore evil or wrongdoing. You don’t turn your back on victims of injustice and discrimination. Instead, Lord, You do the very opposite. Not only do You comfort and show mercy to victims of injustice and oppression like ___, but You also promise to bring justice—for “Yahweh is the Lord of justice, faithful to keep his promises.” In Your great mercy and love, God, You don’t leave it to us to seek revenge or correct injustice. Instead, You ask us to rest, trusting in You and Your power to “make all things news.” In light of this, Yahweh, I ask You to empower ___ to rest in this truth and in Your love for them. Show ___ how You are already bringing about justice in their world and give them opportunities to participate in that transformational, loving, restorative work. Amen.
