(1 Thessalonians 5:18) Yahweh, everything we have and everything we are is from You. Nothing in this world—gifts and talents, resources, opportunities, relationships, community—is our “right” or “what we deserve.” Without You, Father God, we are nothing. We would have neither life nor love without Your intentional design and never-ending grace. Thank You for all You’ve given us, Lord. When we take on this perspective, we begin to see the world (and ourselves) with new eyes—with a new appreciation, gratitude, and thankfulness. I pray that You, Father, would give ___ this same perspective of gratitude. Bring to light all of the gifts, resources, relationships, and opportunities You’ve specifically placed in their path. Remind ___ of how You’ve been working in their life. Reveal to them truths and realities that they never saw before. Show ___ blind spots in their life—where they may have taken credit for what You’ve done—and empower them through Your Holy Spirit, to walk forward in gratitude, every day for who You are and what You’ve done. Because of You, God, we have a reason to “be always giving thanks.” Amen.
