(Deuteronomy 7:9) Father God, of all Your countless, good characteristics, one we hear and see the most is Your faithfulness. From the first pages of Scripture, Your faithfulness is evident. From Creation to the exile from Egypt to the Promised Land to the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus, the Bible is essentially a story of Your faithfulness to humanity—despite our lack of faithfulness in return. Lord, right now, I ask You to remind ___ of the faithfulness, trustworthiness, and love that are so inextricably tied to Your character and identity. Give ___ a clear picture of the God whom they serve—“the faithful God, keeping his covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love him and keep his commandments.” I know Your Spirit lives within ___, Father, and I also know that, because of Jesus’ work on the cross, You will remain faithful to ___, even when they fail to love You or keep Your commandments. But in light of that, may Your work in ___’s life inspire them to love, serve, and obey You all the more. May Your faithfulness, through Your Holy Spirit, ignite a renewed faithfulness to You in ___’s life. Amen.
He is the Faithful God
