(Matthew 5:4) Father, You have a unique heart for the broken, the hurting, and the lonely. Out of Your never-ending love and compassion—which are foundational to Your character and identity, Lord—You desire to lift up the faces of the downcast, to bring us out of our darkness and into Your marvelous light. As You said at the beginning of Your message in Matthew 5, when we mourn—when we’re faced with seemingly insurmountable sadness, loneliness, and pain—we are still blessed. Despite our difficult circumstances, we can still rejoice in the hope You provide—the hope that, despite our mourning, we will be comforted. God, as ___ faces this season that could potentially be filled with sadness, loneliness, and mourning, I ask You to comfort them with this truth and with Your presence. Father, because You care deeply for ___, I ask You not to let this darkness, this trial, to have the final word. Comfort ___ right now, Lord Jesus. Surround them with Your presence and hold them there. Protect ___, sustain ___, and fill ___ with Your grace, love, and peace. Amen.
He Will Comfort You
