(Genesis 1:27) Yahweh, I love this verse in the first chapter of the Bible. Every time I read it, I’m encouraged as, through Your Holy Spirit, I’m reminded of the intentional, unique, purposeful design with which You created me—with which You created every human being. After You set everything else on Earth in motion, Lord, You chose to do something unique and beautiful. You created human beings in Your image. You instilled our very beings with Your beauty, design, and likeness—that we might serve You and bring about Your purposes on the Earth, as it is in Heaven. We are Your image bearers. ___ bears Your beautiful, perfect, indistinguishable image, Lord. Thank You for that. In Your goodness and love, Father, would You empower ___ to recognize that image, that design in their identity? Equip ___ not only to recognize it, but also to use it to “Be fruitful and increase in number,” to “fill the earth and subdue it,” as You commanded us in Genesis 1. Through Your Spirit, God, establish ___’s identity in You as Your image bearer. Reveal to ___ the unique ways in which You want them to spread Your image across the Earth. Thank You for giving us Your image, Lord. Amen.
