(Matthew 5:14-16) Father, You call us to unique places, unique situations, and unique people every day. Through Your Holy Spirit, You lead Your sons and daughters into places we’d probably never go on our own, yet because You are with us, we can go with confidence. We don’t always know why or how or even what we’re supposed to do, but we trust You when You call us. We will follow You where You lead us because in You, there is everlasting joy, hope, love, peace, and life. Lord, I don’t know why You have called ___ to serve our country in the military—perhaps they don’t even know. What I do know—and what ___ knows as well—is that You are with them. Your Spirit, Your light, lives inside of ___ to empower, guide, and direct them every day, every hour, every minute. In light of that truth, God, I ask that You would cause that light to shine even brighter now inside of ___. Grant them the courage and the boldness to set that light free, to release it into the world. In Your mercy and grace, Father, let others see Your light from a distance through ___. Open the eyes of those around ___ to see their life, to see how You’ve transformed them, and to be drawn to You because of it. Thank You for Your light, Lord. Amen.
