(Matthew 6:31-34) Father, there are many circumstances throughout our lives that push us to look ahead, toward the future, but perhaps no year is more significant in this area than our senior year of high school. It’s reflective in the questions seniors are constantly asked, “What are your plans for next year? Where are you going to school? What are you going to study? What do you want to do with your life?” And while planning for the future can definitely be good and valuable, I know all the pressure that’s often associated with these questions and these decisions. In light of that, Lord, I ask You to provide ___ not only with wisdom and guidance in making those decisions, but also with Your presence and wisdom in the here and now. Keep ___ from looking so far into the future that they lose sight of what You’re doing in their life today. Hold ___ in the present moment, Father. Help them to stay alert and aware, listening to Your Spirit and making the most of the time You’ve given them this senior year. Equip ___ to combat any worries and anxiety they’re having about the future with Your goodness and Your love. Amen.
