(Exodus 33:14) I love this verse from the Old Testament, Lord. Despite the Israelites unfaithfulness and sin in the desert—building the golden calf and worshiping it in Your place—You still told Moses, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Even though they didn’t know it, Yahweh, You knew exactly what the Israelites needed. They needed rest. They needed to be with You. They needed Your presence. As You know, Father, more than anything else, ___ needs Your presence right now. In the wake of her husband’s death, ___ needs to be surrounded by Your goodness, comfort, and grace. She needs to feel the warmth of Your Presence and unique love for her, Your daughter. So, Father, I ask that You go with ___. Walk alongside her in the middle of this trial, in the middle of this storm. Give ___ rest as she perseveres through this chaos. Show her Your love when she’s feeling lonely and isolated. Above all, God, through Your Holy Spirit, remind ___ that You are always with her. Reassure her that, even in her darkest moments, she is never alone. She is never abandoned. Speak to ___ the words You spoke to Moses in the desert: “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Amen.
