(Psalm 34:18-19) Death hardly ever comes when we most expect it, Father. And even when we see it coming, it doesn’t take away the resulting pain and grief. We don’t know why people die in the way they do and in the time they do, but we do know, Father, that You conquered sin, death, and the grave. You are the Master and Conqueror of this deep pit that ___ is in right now, Lord. Because of that, Father, I ask You would be near to ___ in this season. As King David prayed in Psalm 34, we know You are near to “all whose hearts are crushed in pain.” Even though ___ may not have explanations or understanding, they can have confidence that You are near to them, God. Continue to draw near to ___. Save ___ from their grief and pain. Provide an antidote for the darkness and despair. Show ___ the light on the other side. Wrap Your arms around ___, Jesus, and mend their broken heart. Amen.
