(Psalm 46:1-3) In our brokenness and humanity, Father, we often fail to invest much time into our relationship with You. In the busyness and distraction of our life, we turn to other sources of hope, love, and peace—only, eventually, to be disappointed. We may turn to You when we need something, or when we’re at the end of our rope, but too often, we forget to be present with You and to listen to Your Holy Spirit. We fail to hold up our end of the bargain. But praise You, God, that that’s not the end of the story. Thank You, Lord, that You “never leave us nor forsake us” (Deuteronomy 31:6). However many times we may fail to trust You, You still reach out to us. Despite our rebellion against You, You still wait for us. As the Psalmist says, You are our “ever-present help in trouble.” Father, You are ___’s ever-present help in this time of trouble and adversity. Every day, every hour, every minute, You are with ___. You remain by their side. Because of You, God, ___ doesn’t have to fear, no matter their circumstances. Even if “the earth gives away and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea,” You are still present with ___, waiting to lift them up. Lord, right now, I ask You to fill ___ with Your presence, through Your Holy Spirit. Replace any fear in ___ with confidence, and any loneliness with Your love. May this truth from Psalm 46 be true in ___’s life both today and all throughout this difficult season. Amen.
