(Psalm 91:1-2) Lord, many things in life are inconsistent and unreliable. Often, the only consistent thing we face on this Earth is that—eventually—people, circumstances, goals, and everything in-between will let us down. Too often, Father, we “build our house on the sand.” We put our trust, faith, and hope in things that can’t sustain us, that can’t provide the hope, peace, and love we need every day. When storms come, we’re left scrambling—searching for something to hold onto because our foundation has crumbled underneath our feet. But that is not the case with You. Yahweh, You are our Stronghold. You are the hope that holds us up. You are our great confidence, and out of Your great love, we are “hidden in the strength of God Most High.” As You know, God, ___ has built their foundation, on the Rock. And right now, ___ is in the middle of a storm. With everything crashing down around them, they need something steady—a stronghold onto which to cling. In this storm, Father, I ask You to be that Stronghold for ___. In the chaos, give them Your peace. In the loneliness, fill them with Your comfort. To their fear, declare Your power. In this difficult season, Lord, be the hope that holds ___ up. Amen.
