(Psalm 62:6) Lord, there are many things, many good things, in this world—people, places, jobs, circumstances—that the Enemy tries to use against us. In his deception, Satan tries to convince us that “true safety” is found in temporary things of this world—money, possessions, health. And although these are good gifts—and “every good and perfect gift is from above” (James 1:17)—we know that’s just what they are: gifts. They aren’t met to sustain us or provide us with our ultimate hope, satisfaction, or protection. Instead, they’re meant to be signs of Your goodness and provision. They’re designed to point us back to You and Your love for us. As You know, Lord, ___’s husband was one of those gifts—a deeply meaningful, beautiful gift in ___’s life. Although his absence will naturally bring pain, sadness, and confusion, Lord, the Enemy is trying to convince ___ that she’s lost her ultimate happiness, joy, and protection—that, now, she’s vulnerable and exposed. But we know that’s a lie, Father. We know You are with ___. You alone are her safe place. Your “wraparound presence” will always protect her—in such a way that she never needs to worry. So, in light of that powerful truth, God, I ask You to fill ___ with Your presence and protection through Your Holy Spirit. Defend her against Satan’s attacks and give her the confidence to say, every day, that “Yahweh is my Protector.” Amen.
