(2 Corinthians 3:4-5) Father God, You are our sufficiency—everything we have, everything we need, and everything we will ever need is found in You. Thank You for that powerful truth, Lord. Thank You for Your great, all-consuming love. As You know, Your daughter, ___, has experienced tragic loss—one that I can’t even imagine enduring. Lord, we don’t know why these things happen, why evil has such power in this world, but we do know that You are still good. We know that You still love us. We know You are still in control of all things. Father, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever—in the good, the bad, and the in-between. As Paul tells the Corinthians, we can have a confidence in our hearts because we are united with You. Everything we have and everything we are flows from Your “empowering presence.” So, God, I ask You to fill ___ in this moment with Your empowering presence. Although she lost her other half, her life partner, surround ___ with Your grace and Your power through Your Holy Spirit. Even in her deep, incomprehensible grief, empower ___ with a confidence in her union with You, Yahweh. Thank You, Lord. Amen.
