(2 Corinthians 12:9) Yahweh, the world—the brokenness of society and our culture today—doesn’t speak the same messages You do. The world tells us to hide our vulnerabilities, but You say, “the truth will set you free.” The world suggests we fend for ourselves, but You command us to “love others as ourselves.” The world says to play to our strengths, but You say, “my power finds its full expression through your weakness.” When we are weak, Lord, then You are strong. And we are then made strong through You. Father, ___’s current circumstances have exposed vulnerabilities in their life and brought to light some of their weaknesses. While the world tells ___ to hide those weaknesses, I ask You to remind them that You will work through them. Show ___ examples of how You’ve worked through their shortcomings in the past and give them confidence to trust You in the here and now. Through Your Holy Spirit, God, empower ___ to walk forward in openness, authenticity, and vulnerability, trusting that You work best when we give our full selves—weakness and all—over to You. Thank You, Lord. Amen.
