(Philippians 4:6-7) From the moment You entered this world as a baby, Lord Jesus, Your life didn’t make sense to the powers of this world. From the first words You spoke, Your message transcended our broken, limited understanding as human beings. The world tells us to protect ourselves; You tell us to love our enemies. Our sin tells us to be selfish; You tell us to be selfless. Our brokenness tells us to worry about everything—to reach for control and hold on tightly. You, Father, tell us to cast all of our cares, worries, and anxieties onto You. You tell us to rest—even when our lives don’t make sense to us. You, Yahweh, tell us to take a deep breath and embrace a peace that transcends our understanding. That is my prayer for ___ today, Lord. Replace ___’s fear with peace. Exchange their anxiety for rest. Through Your Spirit, Lord, empower ___ to “be saturated in prayer throughout each day” out of “overflowing gratitude” to You. Give them confidence to share every detail of their life with You, Lord. Remind ___ that, despite everything going on in their life, they can still choose to step into Your peace. Amen.
