(Acts 1:9-11) As human beings, we often fail to come to terms with our own limitations. In our brokenness, we want control. We want to understand everything. We want to know the path You’ve set before us before we even start walking. But Father, when we look at Your character and Your identity, we can’t deny our weaknesses. We can do nothing without Your help and Your Spirit. Yet, in Your love and grace, You come alongside us in our brokenness. You partner with us and empower us, if only we trust You to lead us. God, in light of this, I ask You to provide ___ with a perspective of hope. In ministry—especially full-time, long-term ministry—it can be difficult to persevere when we don’t see fruit. When we don’t see the light at the end of the tunnel, our work can often feel purposeless and empty. Empower ___, though, to take heart and hold onto the hope that even when they can’t see You working, You are still working. Even when this world feels dark and beyond repair, You are still coming back. Even when sin and death seem too powerful, the truth remains: You have still won the battle. Through Your Spirit, Lord, equip Your servant, ___, with a transformational perspective of Your victory, power, and love. Amen.
