(2 Corinthians 12:9-10) Father God, in Your goodness and grace, You’ve given us a great gift: we don’t need to rely on ourselves. As You told Your servant, Paul, Your grace “is always more than enough for [us].” In that same grace, Lord, You’ve equipped us with unique gifts, talents, and abilities, but You don’t require us to justify ourselves through those gifts. Instead, You call us to rely on You and Your strength, and to use those gifts to love You and love others. We don’t need to justify ourselves, Father, because we have everything we need—identity, purpose, motivation, satisfaction, love, hope—in You. Because of this, our human brokenness doesn’t matter—it has no power over us. In fact, as Paul told the Corinthians, our weaknesses actually become a portal to Your power. They allow You to shine even brighter in our lives. That’s what I ask for ___’s life right now, Father. As their spouse serves their country during this season, ___ might be reminded of their weakness. ___ might be faced with their own shortcomings amid their sadness, loneliness, and fear. But in that, God, I ask You to encourage ___. Give them hope that, even in that weakness, You are still working. Even when ___ faces trials, You will become all-the-more powerful in their life. Fill ___ with hope and delight today, Lord—even (and especially) in their weakness. Amen.
