(Hebrews 12:1-3) Father God, we know this life isn’t easy. As You told Your disciples, “in this world, you will have trouble” (John 16:33, NIV). Throughout our lives, we know we will face difficult circumstances, situations, and people. The frustration and pain of job loss, unfulfilled dreams, broken relationships, and lost opportunities are ever-present obstacles on this side of heaven. ___ is in a middle of this season right now, Father. They need strength, perseverance, and courage through Your Holy Spirit, Lord. As ___ continues to push through discouragement and disappointment, empower them to “run life’s marathon race with passion and determination,” as the author of Hebrews writes. Strengthen ___ and fix their gaze above—on You, on Your Holy Spirit, and on Your Son, Jesus. Empower ___ to follow Jesus’ example and focus on the beautiful, hopeful horizon—the love, joy, peace, and rest You have promised all those who trust in You. Give ___ a supernatural vision of their eternal future, that they might have the strength and endurance to persevere through this unique season. Thank You, Father. Amen.
