(Psalm 4:5) Dear Jesus, You’ve sacrificed Your life so that we can have eternal life. Please help ___ to see that clearly. Help them to know the pain and agony You went through in dying on the cross. Help them understand the deep love You have for them which drove You to this sacrifice. And then Lord, when they see that clearly enough, help them develop a sacrificial attitude for themselves. Let them understand that You love a cheerful giver and that real joy comes in giving of ourselves and our resources. Jesus, give them a sacrificial heart like Yours, and let them experience the fullness that this brings. In Your name I pray, Amen.
