(Romans 8:28) Lord God, as human beings with limited perspectives, we so easily slip into the belief that our circumstances should determine our happiness, our contentment, our peace in life. How quick we are to lose sight of Your eternal goodness, Your everlasting grace and Your unconditional love—all things that You specifically designed to be independent of any circumstances! Even when the sin and brokenness of this world bring trouble into our lives, Father, You are still good. You are still with us, even in the darkness. In light of that truth, Lord, I ask You to save ___ from their current circumstances. Show ___ the fullness of Your power and love. Remind them that, despite what’s going on around them, the truth of Romans 8:28 remains: You are working out every detail of ___’s life for good. You’ve given ___ a specific purpose on this earth, and You will see it come to fruition, despite their circumstances trying to convince them otherwise. The world tortured and killed Your Son, Jesus, on a cross—the worst-possible circumstances—yet You, Yahweh, used that to save the world. Thank You for saving us from our circumstances. Amen.
