(1 Thessalonians 5:18) You are always working, Father. In the good, bad, and uncertain times, Lord, You are working all things together for the good of those who love You, trust You, and follow in Your footsteps. We might not always see how You’re working, but because of Your goodness and love, we can be confident that You are. Because of that, You call us not only to be thankful in the good times, but also in the bad—in the sad, disappointing, and frustrating times. Even amid the “light and momentary troubles” of this life, we have an unending number of reasons to be grateful. As You know, Father, ___ and I haven’t always been on the same page. We haven’t always gotten along or been happy with one another. Yet through even those difficult times, I know I still have reason to give thanks for ___. Thank You for ___’s consistent and enduring friendship, even through the hard times. Thank You for their forgiveness and grace, even when I’m undeserving of it. And thank You for ___’s steady and constant love—based in Your love for them—that has been a rock for me throughout my life. In the good and the bad, I will continue to thank You and praise You for ___, Lord. You are a Good Father. Amen.
