(Isaiah 62:5) Lord Jesus, we were created for life union with You—to have our entire selves consumed by You in the deepest, most intimate, and transformational way. In many ways—as You designed—our relationship with You resembles marriage here on this Earth. Just as a husband and wife are joined together in a marriage covenant, becoming “one flesh” (Genesis 2:24), so we are Your bride, and You are the bridegroom. Fullness of life—joy, peace, love, rest—is only found in total unity, trust, and commitment with You, Lord. God, ___ has lost her bridegroom on this Earth, the other side of her “one flesh.” Only You, Lord, know the deep pain and grief she’s currently experiencing, and only You know exactly what she needs to mend the wounds on her heart and soul. In light of that, Father, I ask You to be that bridegroom for ___. Fill up that space in her heart. Surround her with Your love, grace, mercy, and comfort. Unite ___’s soul with Your own in such a way that it can never be separated or destroyed. Father, while ___ waits to join her husband in paradise, I ask You—our true bridegroom—to provide everything she needs to thrive in the life to which You’ve called her. Amen.
