(John 1:4-5) Father of Light, thank You for being the Light of our lives that bursts through our gloom. Thank You for Your promise that the darkness cannot diminish Your light. ___ is being surrounded by the darkness of depression. They need reassurance that You will burst through and Your light will lead them back to the fullness of life You have for them. Help ___ welcome You into every room in their heart without shame or embarrassment. Give them the strength to hand over their despair to You, all at once or piece by piece. You do not look down on us when we struggle, Father, but look us in the eye with love and weep with us. You do not wish for any of Your children to be in pain. As Your gentle spirit knocks at the door of ___’s heart, give them the courage to let You come in. Your light is not abrasive, but kind and life-giving. I pray the spirit of heaviness is lifted from ___’s heart as the glow of Your glory illuminates the darkness. Amen.
