(Galatians 1:10) Around seemingly every corner, this world—and the people in it—try to tell us from where our identity should come. Over and over, we’re told messages like “you are what you eat” or “you are what you do” or “you are what you accomplish.” From every direction, different pressures and influences pull at us, beckoning us to commit our lives to different pursuits. One direction tells us to pour ourselves into our job—into rising up the ladder and making more money. Another direction tells us to make as many friends as possible. Still another tells us to travel, try new things, and accumulate a wealth of life-changing experiences. This battle of voices can often be exhausting and overwhelming, Father, but we know You offer a different path. Through Your still, small voice, Lord, You call us to a life of love, joy, peace, and hope. In Your powerful truth, You remind us that none of those worldly voices define us. It is not what others think that matters, but what You, our Lord and Creator, think. Father, I ask You to empower ___ to serve You, not others. Through Your Holy Spirit, expand ___’s perspective to rise above this world and to see clearly Your design and purpose for their life. Give ___ courage to overcome the world and confidence that what You say is good and true. Thank You for ___’s unique identity in You, Lord. Amen.
