(Proverbs 3:5-6) Throughout Scripture, over and over, we read about the theme of trust. In the Old Testament, Lord, You told the Israelites to put their hope and their trust in You. In the New Testament, Jesus called His disciples to follow Him and to trust Him with their lives. As we learn about Your character and Your goodness, Lord, we know this isn’t just an empty command. We know You don’t ask for our allegiance without deserving it and earning it. God, we know You call us to trust You because You are trustworthy. Time and time again, You’ve proven Yourself to us, to Your people. In ___’s life, You’ve shown them what happens when they trust in You, when they rely on You for guidance. Father, You call us to trust in You because You want to help us. You want to lead us, to make our paths straight—because You are good and because You love us. God, You want to lead ___. I know You desire to guide their every step. So, Father, in light of that, I ask You to empower ___ with trust in You. Show them Your trustworthiness. Remind them of examples of Your faithfulness in their life. Above all, Lord, speak to ___ and tell them that You love them, that the plans You have for their life are for their good. Father, in Your goodness and love, lead ___ wherever they go. Amen.
