(Romans 15:13) Father, it’s no secret what You offer to those who love and trust You. Although there are many parts of Your being and character that remain a mystery to us as limited human beings, You don’t hide Your promises from us. You don’t command us to follow You without clearly outlining what we have to gain in the process. As Paul wrote to the Romans, among a countless number of other blessings, in You, there is radiating hope, resurrection power, perfect peace, and overflowing, uncontainable joy. And we know Paul isn’t just reiterating something he’s been taught; he’s speaking from experience. Despite his imprisonment, torture, and attempted murder, Paul is telling the Church in Rome that, because of Jesus, he is living in hope, power, peace, and joy. What an incredible truth that is, Father! Thank You that our joy is not dependent on our circumstances. In light of that, Lord, would You give Your child, ___, a taste of that “uncontainable joy” right now? God, I know ___ has a heart for You—a desire to serve and love You—so I ask You to fill their heart, mind, and soul with that same joy, hope, and peace that can only come from You and through Your Spirit. Whether it be through another person, an experience, or a supernatural encounter, breathe Your everlasting joy into ___’s life right now. Fulfill Your promises to Your servant, ___, today, Lord. Amen.
