(1 John 3:20-22) As You instructed Your disciples when You lived on this Earth, a good father will give his children good gifts. Because he knows them and knows what’s best for them—at least, better than they do—he will give them good gifts, for their own benefit. If this is true of earthly fathers, then how much truer is it of You, our Heavenly Father, who is infinitely more loving and perfect and benevolent than us? God, I ask You to reassure ___ of these two powerful truths. First, remind them that You know them. Show them Your perspective and let them know You see their heart. Second, encourage ___ that You want what’s best for them. Equip them with Your love, grace, and Holy Spirit, according to their specific needs. Empower ___ to “do what brings pleasure to [You]” by seeing their heart, equipping them through Your Spirit and encouraging them in Your love. Be near to ___ today, Father, and stir their heart with affection for You. Amen.
