(James 1:5) Yahweh, in 1 Kings 3, when You told Your servant Solomon to ask for anything he wanted, he asked for one thing specifically. It wasn’t riches or fame or glory—it was wisdom. Solomon asked for guidance and discernment to lead Your people of Israel. He knew how much more valuable Your eternal wisdom is than any temporary pleasure this world can offer. In the same way, Father, I ask for wisdom, discernment, and guidance for ___ as they enter this new chapter of life. In deciding a degree and future professional pursuits, give them wisdom to listen to and consider Your Holy Spirit’s perspective. In choosing friend groups and relationships to pursue, guide ___ to find people striving after Your heart. In navigating new and complex social situations, empower ___ with discernment to see the implications and potential consequences of their decisions—good or bad. In everything, I ask that You shape ___’s more and more into the image of Your mind, Father—that they would seek, above all else, to be with You, to become like You, and to do what You did. Amen.
