(Matthew 11:28-30) Yahweh, You are our rest in the chaos. You are our rock in the storm. You are our strong, firm foundation—our refreshing oasis in a dry desert. This is Your character, Father. This is Your nature and identity, Yahweh. We can have confidence that when we come to You, when we abide in You and Your truth, we will find peace, refreshment, and rest. We will find relief from our burdens in all of Your goodness, mercy, and love. What a comforting, encouraging, hopeful truth that is, Lord. Thank You that You are a good God, a good Father. ___ needs that oasis right now, Father; they need that rest and refreshment You told Your disciples about in Matthew 11. ___ needs to “taste and see that You are good” (Psalm 34:8)—they need to experience Your life-giving identity firsthand. Father, I ask You to call ___ to Yourself and hold them close. Surround ___ until they feel that peace, that rest, that hope—and don’t let go. Father, we know You are near to the broken-hearted, full of grace and compassion, so I ask You to be near to ___ in this season. Amen.
